Families are invited to the Library explore a different country every week...we'll have stories, snacks, games and crafts from featured countries, one each Thursdays, June 23 through August 11, 6:30-7:30 PM in the Children’s Room.

Friday Family Movie Series - Travel the World in Film at PPL!
Come along as we visit different lands along with some of our favorite movie friends, Fridays at 2:00 pm – June 24 through August 5 in the Barnard Room (3rd floor).
June 24 – “The Little Mermaid” – (G) Disney 1989. A mermaid makes a bargain with an evil sea sorceress to give up her identity as a mermaid to become human and gain the love of a prince on land.
July 1 – “Lion King” – (G) Disney, 1994. Tricked into thinking he killed his father, a guilt-ridden lion cub flees into exile and abandons his identity as the future King.
July 8 – “The Rescuers Down Under” – (G) Disney, 1990. The RAS agents, Miss Bianca and Bernard, race to Australia to save a boy and a rare golden eagle from a murderous poacher.
July 15 – “Pinocchio” – (G) Disney, 1940. A living puppet, with the help of a cricket as his conscience, must prove himself worthy to be a real boy.
July 22 – “Anatasia” – (G) 20th Century Fox, 1997. The only surviving child of the Russian royal family teams up with two con men while the undead Rasputin seeks her death.
July 29 – “Ponyo” – (G) 1998. An animated adventure centered around a 5 year old boy and his relationship with a goldfish princess who longs to be human.
August 5 – “The Jungle Book” – (G) Disney, 1967. Bagheera the Panther and Baloo the Bear have a hard time trying to convince a boy to leave the jungle for human civilization.
