August 6
11:00 am Katrina's Children*

01:00 pm American Idealist: The Story of Sargent Shriver - Peace Corps, VISTA, Community Action, Head Start, Legal Services for the Poor, Job Corps, and more--Sargent Shriver invented a string of social initiatives that shaped an era and dared millions of Americans to live out their ideals.

03:00 pm At Home With The Clearys - illustrates the huge change in attitudes around the Irish Catholic Church in the space of one generation that sparked a major public debate characterized by a new empathy.

August 7
01:00 pm Of All The Things* - an hilarious and touching pop/rock/country/R&B documentary that follows Dennis Lambert as he rediscovers his passion for music by embarking on a whirlwind 'comeback' tour that takes him from the comforts of his home in Boca Raton, through the remote outer islands of the Philippines, to a sold-out show at Manila's famous Araneta Coliseum for thousands of fans he never knew he had.

03:00 pm Killer Poet - a true tale of crime and punishment, revenge and redemption, double identities, manhunt and capture, making a mistake young and paying for it for the rest of one's life, and the need to atone for unforgivable sins.

05:00 pm Robert Blecker Wants Me Dead - an often disturbing, sometimes funny, documentary film about passion, murder, and the American death penalty. How on earth can a pro-capital punishment crusader and a death row inmate be friends?

August 8
11:00 am The Man of Two Havanas* - a documentary about the bombings by Americans in Miami in the 70s and 80s from the point of view of one man whose family was at the epicenter.

01:00 pm Scouts Are Cancelled - John Stiles, a down and out temp worker in Toronto, turns his generic, dead-end telemarketing job into a venue for performance art.

03:00 pm Beyond Our Ken - Through remarkable verite footage and candid interviews, this film explores the anatomy and ambiguity of the 'cult' enigma Kenja. As attendees past and present describe their experiences, we discover the extent to which environment defines our reality--a reality as fragile as the truth.

August 9
11:00 am La Americana* - Carmen never planned to come to the United States, but she left her family in Bolivia and made the dangerous and illegal journey to New York City to earn enough to support her ailing daughter, knowing she might never return home to see her again.

01:30 pm Heavy Load - a humorous documentary about a group of British punk rock musicians with and without learning disabilities--a precarious negotiation between two worlds: the institutional timetable of day centers, work placements and social workers; and the chaotic slacker life of rehearsal rooms, studios and gigs.

03:30 pm Seasons in the Valley - this film about Jamaican men from the government's H2-A Program challenges pre-conceived notions about immigrant labor and investigates the symbiotic relationship between the Jamaican men who pick the apples in New York's Hudson Valley and the orchard owners who grow them.
