Beat the heat (and the rain) and watch a movie at the library. Many of our movies are based on popular books that may be read and enjoyed by the whole family. If you liked the movie, check out the book this summer, too!
Note: Parents/guardians should determine which movies are age-appropriate for their children. If the movie is in question, previewing is suggested.

August 31: Revisit your favorite Chocolate Factory with old and new movies based on this Roald Dahl classic!
1:30 pm: Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory

In this cult classic based on the novel by Roald Dahl, pure of heart Charlie Bucket, along with four grossly gluttonous girls and boys, win the opportunity to tour the magical candy factory of an eccentric recluse, Willy Wonka, and secure a lifetime supply of chocolate. One-by-one, the children are undone by their own greed until only Charlie is left to claim a prize even more fantastic than a lifetime of chocolate.

Charlie Bucket is a poor little boy who wins every young child’s dream when he gets a chance to tour Willy Wonka’s amazing factory with four other -- much naughtier -- children. This tour will be like no other and will change Charlie's life forever.
