END OF SUMMER READING CELEBRATION!
Around the World Folktales with Diane Edgecomb
Join in and travel around the world with these captivating multicultural legends. Each tale offers a participatory look at our common love of story. Celebrate engaging narratives, animal characters, songs in different languages and home-spun wisdom as one of New England's favorite storytellers takes us from the heart of the Amazon rainforest to the forests of the Czech Republic to the villages of Africa. Celebrate the diversity of people all over the world using the common elements of story, rhythm and song.
One of New England’s favorite tellers, Ms. Edgecomb is widely known and respected as a master storyteller. Called: “A storyteller in the grand tradition, a virtuoso of the spoken word and an entire cast rolled into one” by Publisher’s Weekly, Diane is also a winner of a ‘Year’s Best Performance’ award from the Boston Herald. A professional teller for over twenty years, Diane has created over 25 innovative performances for both families and adults, ranging from Solstice Events rich in seasonal mythology to Celtic tales accompanied by Harper Margot Chamberlain.
With a style of telling known for rich characterizations and a zany sense of humor, Diane is a regularly featured teller at storytelling and theatre venues throughout the country, including the acclaimed Three Apples Storytelling Festival, National Public Radio, and Charlestown Working Theatre.
Register for program online or call the Children’s Room at 455-8025.
