Music of the Great American Songbook
We love a piano! Revel in close harmonies and toe-tapping rhythms as OP sings pop and jazz standards from the "Great American Songbook." Combining OP's signature blended harmonies with director Tim Harbold's experience as a cabaret pianist, the show will include familiar favorites from George Gershwin, Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, Fats Waller, Ella Fitzgerald, the Beatles, and more.
Oure Pleasure Singers, under the direction of Tim Harbold, are a small group of vocalists dedicated to the joy of serious music-making. Comprised of singers from Providence, Attleboro, and surrounding communities, the ensemble sings an eclectic variety of music, ranging from plainchant to jazz, and embracing both the sacred and the secular.
Conductor, arranger, and pianist, Mr. Tim Harbold is Associate Professor, Director of Music in Performance, and Choral Director at Wheaton College in Norton, Massachusetts. He is a versatile musician, at home performing music ranging from classical to musical theatre to gospel and jazz. Tim Harbold has served as OP's Music Director since 2005.
Based in Attleboro MA, Oure Pleasure was founded in 1983 by friends who were seeking the special enjoyment of a small, closely-knit vocal ensemble. In its earlier days, Oure Pleasure concentrated on madrigals and music of the Renaissance and Medieval periods, and its name is borrowed from the words of the madrigal "Sing We and Chant It," once its signature piece.
Now is best leisure to take oure pleasure ...
