John Partington, former U.S. Marshall, sat with Arlene Violet during his last years and revealed the story of the development of the Witness Protection Plan. This memoir of the personal protector to more than five hundred informants over the course of thirty years is a fascinating look at Watergate, the personalities of the mob in Rhode Island, and other familiar scandals. Told in the strong voice and with a bird’s eye view by our own inimitable Arlene Violet.

About the Authors

John Partington began his law enforcement career in 1955 and worked for the U/S. Marshall Service from 1962 to 1980, retiring in 2004. Arlene Violet is the former Attorney General of Rhode Island and the first elected woman AG in U.S. history. Currently practicing law, she is also collaborating with South County composer Enrico Garzilli on an original mob-themed musical to debut this spring called ‘The Family.’
