Sooner or later, it could happen to you!  Anyone who has ever had to care for elderly parents will see their own situations reflected in this witty yet practical handbook.  You’ll  be right by Pam Carey’s side as she outlines 49 tongue-in-cheek “rules” she devised for navigating the trials of elderly living, the medical issues, and the inevitable loss that comes.  She illustrates each point with her own sometimes hilarious and often poignant experiences with her parents in their eighties and nineties.  Included as an appendix are alphabetized definitions, websites, and phone numbers for anyone who is a caregiver.

….Paul Eno, Publisher, New River Press

Pamela obtained a B.A. from Colby College and an M.A. from Columbia University Teachers College.  She taught high school English in Connecticut, Georgia, and Maine, before studying at Rhode Island School of Design and opening her own interior design firm.  In 2009 Barking Cat Books published Minor League Mom: A Mother’s Journey through the Red Sox Farm Teams, which was Pam’s story during her two sons’ years playing professional baseball through the highest level of the minor leagues.  In June, 2014, Barking Cat Books published Elderly Parents with All Their Marbles: A Survival Guide for the Kids.

Pam and her husband reside in Delray Beach, Florida, and Westport, Massachusetts. When not writing, Pam can be found playing for a women’s tennis team.
