9:30 AM-5:00 PM
Providence Public Library
150 Empire Street
Providence, RI 02903
Auditorium (3rd Floor)
To staff of local Community Rehabilitation Programs, we invite you to join us for a FREE, one-day training to learn about the requirements of the Special Minimum Wage Program under Section 14(c) of the FLSA. We have developed this interactive training to engage you in conversation about your needs and to provide you with specific information on how to maintain compliance with your Section 14(c) certificate that authorizes the payment of special minimum wages to workers with disabilities.
Do you need a review of the basics of Section 14(c)? Do you have questions about the prevailing wage survey process? Does your staff need assistance with calculating hourly commensurate wages? Bring these and other questions to the session because we can help!
Main topics of discussion will include:
- The certification process,
- Time studies,
- Record keeping requirements,
- Compliance requirements for federal government contractors,
- And much more!
We have also partnered with our sister agency, the Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP), to provide you with additional information about initiatives designed to help people with significant disabilities achieve integrated, full-wage employment. This and other helpful information can be found on ODEP’s website at: http://www.dol.gov/odep/topics/IntegratedEmployment.htm.
During a special session, you will have the opportunity to share with DOL and your colleagues the best practices that you have developed and also share any concerns or compliance challenges you face. We look forward to discussing these issues with you and also to sharing some exciting news about compliance tools we have developed as a result of feedback received at last year’s seminars.
The day of the training, you will receive a FLSA Section 14(c) Resource CD, Employment of Workers with Disabilities. This CD contains useful compliance assistance materials. If you are unable to attend the seminar and wish to receive this valuable resource tool, please fax your request to the number shown on the registration page. You have the option to duplicate these materials and distribute them among your staff. For your convenience the information on the CD can also be found on our website at: http://www.dol.gov/whd/specialemployment/workers_with_disabilities.htm
We recommend you register early for this FREE training. Space is limited. Please see the enclosed registration information.
