Clarice LaVerne Thompson, musicologist, founded RPM Voices of Rhode Island in 2003 with an active 65 plus singers. She also serves as minister of music and choir director at Bethel AME Church and gospel choir director at Beneficent Congregational Church both in Providence, Rhode Island.  Dr. Thompson received her Master of Music in music composition and her Doctor of Arts in music history both from the University of Mississippi in Oxford, Mississippi.
