This program is part of Flocked, Blocked and Stenciled: A Providence Wallpaper Event: a show of original wallpapers at the 186 Carpenter Street Gallery

Wallpaper is back! From meticulously crafted historic reproductions to cutting-edge original designs, wallpaper has returned as a form of expression. Providence has a long tradition of design, and this wallpaper show highlights another aspect of making in this making city! Over thirty local artists from a variety of backgrounds have designed and printed original wallpapers that are fascinating, expressive and thought-provoking. This special group of events offers the opportunity to see and learn about locally-made original designs or to be inspired to make your own.

The show has been organized with the participation of crucial community institutions, including 186 Carpenter Street Gallery, AS220, the Providence Athenaeum, DESIGNxRI, and the Providence Public Library.

The show will be featured among DESIGNxRI’s Design Week events. Check out the schedule Schedule of Events and many thanks for helping us spread the word! For more information, visit “Flocked, Blocked and Stenciled” on Facebook or contact Taylor Polites at 917-459-3393 or taylor.polites@gmail.com.
