An Evening of Poetry with Forrest Gander
2011 Library of Congress Witter Bynner Poetry Fellow
The Rhode Island Center for the Book presents an evening of poetry with Forrest Gander performing his poetry and discussing his collaborative work with photographers and Spanish language poets, including readings in both Spanish and English. This performance will take place at 7:30 pm in the Fleet Library, Rhode Island School of Design, 15 Westminster Street, Providence, RI. The event is free and open to the public.
There will be September and October exhibits at RISD’s Fleet Library, the Providence Athenaeum, and the Newport Historical Society, with visually exciting examples of "Poetry on the Page” from their collections, including books by Forrest Gander, and works by students at Rhode Island School of Design.
This program is presented by the Center for the Book in the Library of Congress, the Rhode Island Center for the Book, Rhode Island Council for the Humanities, the Providence Athenaeum, Newport Historical Society, Fleet Library at RISD, and American Printing History Association/NE Chapter.
