D.O.A. (1950) – The end of an era of stylized film noir, D.O.A. is shot in black
and white with superb cinematography and a driving plot. From the start we know where we are, “B” movie Hollywood, as a man comes into a police station to report his own murder.
The frantically paced plot revolves around a doomed man's quest to find out who has poisoned him, and why.
Film discussions will be led by Ron Hagell, BA, MFA – an experienced film writer/director who has taught screenwriting around the world (RISD, University of London, Frankfurt University
and more).
