Double Indemnity (1944) – In this adaption of a Raymond Chandler novel directed by Billy Wilder, a dying Fred MacMurray relates his downfall at the hands of femme fatale Barbara Stanwyck, who set him up to kill her husband. Edward G. Robinson closes in, one step behind.
This series looks at Film Noir from the origins in Berlin into the end of the beginning, with 40s & 50s Hollywood movies that are now classics.
Film discussions will be led by Ron Hagell, BA, MFA – an experienced film writer/director who has taught screenwriting around the world (RISD, University of London, Frankfurt University (and more).
