 Be Mindful at the Library presents:  Introduction to Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) led by Erin Sharaf 

Our mindfulness series is back by popular demand in 2011 and will include a number of classes, workshops, and lectures that will help you empower your mind and body to improve your health.

Created by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn, founder of the University of Massachusetts Medical School's Stress Reduction Clinic, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) encourages you to actively participate in your health and well being. This introductory workshop will enhance your awareness of the interplay between mind and body in health and disease, which is the basis for preventive medicine. With its focus on non-judgmental awareness of our moment-to-moment experience, mindfulness is a natural human capacity that helps access our innate power to heal and to respond more effectively to stress, pain and illness.

About the Presenter
Erin Sharaf MA, PA-C, completed her physician assistant studies at Yale University School of Medicine. She participated in a professional training program under the direction of Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn and has interned with a senior instructor at the Center for Mindfulness Stress Reduction Program. She has had training in mind-body medicine at Mass. General’s Mind/Body Medicine Institute. Wanting to offer her patients more, she completed a master's degree in Integrative Medicine at Lesley University.
