Taking Literature from the page to the stage…

Living Literature has created a funny and heartwarming readers’ theater presentation for the 2014 holiday season from John Irving’s novel, A Prayer for Owen Meany.  This adaption of Irving’s inspiring modern classic centers on the tale of two pre-teenage boys’ roles in an unorthodox and funny Christmas pageant held in the fictitious New Hampshire town of Gravesend in the mid-1950s.

Living Literature, a collective of Rhode Island based artists and educators, teaches literature through a unique and imaginative experience of getting participants on their feet and allowing observers to see the story unfold. A non-profit organization, many Living Literature actors teach, direct and perform at other organizations in the New England area and beyond.

Parking is available at the Providence Hilton Parking Garage: $3/3 hours. Bring ticket for stamping at the Library.
