The Magic of Music

A Family Program, ages 5 and up

Gather around the piano on stage in the PPL Auditorium with local classical pianist and composer Benjamin Nacar for a magical journey through the land of music. Combining storytelling in words with storytelling in melodies, Ben will perform a variety of selections from J. S. Bach to Nikolai Medtner. The short concert will conclude with a piano rendition of Dukas' The Sorcerer's Apprentice.

Benjamin Nacar is a native of the East Side of Providence, now living somewhere in Cranston. Originally homeschooled through high school, he graduated from Brown University in May 2012 having completed a double concentration in Computer Science and Classics. He gives frequent concerts around the Greater Providence area, both solo and in collaboration with professional and student musicians. He is a frequent guest performer with the Community MusicWorks players. Much of his performing and composing work may be found at http://www.bennacar.com/.
