Ever wanted to make your own show or protest poster but been unsure of where to start? Join Lois Harada of DWRI Letterpress to dip into the visual resources available in Special Collections and make your own poster to take home.

This workshop will be presented in two portions; an overview and analysis of posters from the library’s collection and a guided, hands-on workshop to make your own. We’ll be examining full color posters from the 19th and 20th centuries, looking at design elements and what makes them eye-catching and memorable.

We’ll be using stenciling, collage and other hand techniques inspired by the works we’ve viewed. No experience is necessary for this workshop and you do not need a specific cause in mind to make a poster (though if you have one, make sure you have all the details like place, time, price or contact information).
