A tribute commemorating the 207th birthdate and recognizing the unique literary contributions of the outstanding American suspense author Edgar Allan Poe, who spent some time in Providence during the years 1845, 1847 and 1848, primarily while courting the eccentric heiress and poetess, Sarah Helen Whitman. There will be dramatic readings/recitations of Mr. Poe's prose and poetry; plus several songs will be offered. Included will be a touch of audience participation!

Cast of Performers
Carl L. Johnson, the organizer of this occasion, is a life-long resident of Rhode Island who presents public tributes in Providence, recognizing the literary contributions of H. P. Lovecraft and Edgar Allan Poe. Mr. Johnson is employed as a docent at historic Slater Mill site in Pawtucket, RI and, often along with his twin brother Keith, has appeared on the televisions shows Ghost Hunters on SyFy Channel, The Haunted on Animal Planet, Paranormal State on A&E Network, Most Terrifying Places In America for the Travel Channel and Animal Planet's Finding Bigfoot.
 
Christian Henry Tobler, who resides in Oxford, Connecticut, is a noted historian and an author of five scholarly and splendidly illustrated books n Medieval Combat and field fighting techniques. He will preside as our Master of Ceremonies.
 
Keith E. Johnson has participated in the Rhode Island acting scene during the past three decades. Also known for his television work, he is the author of three books: Paranormal Realities and Paranormal Realities 2 & 3.
 
Merdyth Eryn Flynn is an accomplished singer and actor who is much in demand on the Rhode Island theater circuit. Any who have attended an H.P. Lovecraft or Edgar Allan Poe event staged in Providence since 2007 will have heard  Meryn recite and sing! She is also recognized from her appearances on cable television.
 
Thomas Broadbent undertakes to arrange two, annual events in Providence. These are an H. P. Lovecraft birthday celebration usually the 3rd Sunday in August conducted at the author's grave site in Swan Point Cemetery, and a remembrance of Sarah Helen Whitman at her final resting place in North Burial Ground. He also channels his creativity into creating other, regular theme events commemorating mystery and fantasy writers.
 
Tara Smith is a senior performer with the internationally known performance troupe: TEN31 Productions. Her remarkable artistry, performing "living statuary" often can be enjoyed at Fanueil Hall in Cambridge, MA, King Richard's Faire in Carver, MA and WaterFire Providence.
 
Mark A. Carter is recognized as a singular tour du force in Rhode Island theater. Actor and playwright, he specializes in character work, bringing to life an array of fictional and historic personages, and is a professional voice-over artist.
