RI Black Storytellers (RIBS) -- Family FUNDay!
Part of FUNDA FEST 13: A Celebration of Black Storytelling, taking place at venues across RI from January 16 through January 23, 2011.
Whether you are a kid, have a kid, or are a kid at heart, stories are for all of us, no matter what age, culture or experience. Join us!
1:00 pm: - 2:15 pm: Barnard Room, 3rd Floor - Intergenerational Storytelling Workshop
2:30 pm: Auditorium Theater, 3rd Floor - Family Storytelling Concert featuring RIBS and invited guests
4:00 pm: Auditorium Theater, 3rd Floor- Story Swap: Tell your own story!
FUNDA means to teach and to learn in Zulu and Kiswahili. RIBS' mission is to promote the awareness, appreciation, and application of Black Storytelling through performance, educational, cultural, and historical experiences. FUNDA FEST is a yearly RIBS event that brings workshops, story swaps, school shows, and public performances of spoken word, love stories, folk tales, and true stories from Westerly to Woonsocket, Providence to Newport.
