Four cases on the main floor of Adams Library showcase Louisa May Alcott's life and works, with an annotated sampling of copies of her books for adults as well as children and associated articles.

In Hospital Sketches, Louisa May Alcott described her experiences as a nurse during the Civil War, and many other women published similar stories of the challenges of their work tending to injured soldiers. A selection of these accounts will be on display in the 3rd floor exhibition area, along with other works by Alcott and her contemporaries.
