All are welcome to these informal groups, which last 45-60 minutes. There is no registration required, and both meetings end with cookies and punch.

"A Taste of Fiction" -- Wednesday, September 12, 10:30 am

Interpreter of Maladies by Jhumpa Lahiri

The group chooses a book to read and discuss that is a recent title of different genres. Readers guides to the book and author information are available for each title. The Librarian orders several copies of the book in plenty of time for reading before the meeting; multiple copies are available for checkout.

"Let's Talk Books" -- once per month on Fridays, 12:15 pm

This group is an informal discussion of books about a thought-provoking topic. The Librarian who leads the group chooses and talks about books and other library materials that represent the topic. She also highlights new books added to the Library that are of interest to the group.

Past topics have included Rhode Island authors, banned books, books into movies, short stories, and memoirs.
