PPL’s Smith Hill Branch Receives $1,200
League of Women Voter’s Education Fund Grant
The Smith Hill Branch of Providence Public Library (PPL) has received a grant of $1,200 from the League of Women Voter’s Education Fund. The funds will be used to purchase more than 30 American women’s history biographies for children, as well as a selection of citizenship books and materials for adults.
According to Jennifer Romans, Smith Hill Children’s Specialist, the Branch will also be offering five children’s programs themed around American women over the course of the next several months. Joan Retsinas, of the League of Women Voter’s Fund, hopes this funding and programming will happen annually.
