02/11/09 Judging Lincoln…Chief Justice Frank J. Williams (Ret.) to speak at PPL
Providence Public Library proudly presents Chief Justice Frank J. Williams (Ret.) for Judging Lincoln, a lecture in recognition of the Lincoln Bicentennial, on Thursday, March 12 at 6:00 pm at the Central Library —150 Empire Street, Lippitt Hall (1st floor).
This program is free and open to the public with the aim of increasing awareness of the Lincoln Bicentennial, revealing more about this important historical figure (including details such as Lincoln’s ties to Rhode Island through John Hay), and fostering civic engagement and dialogue in the community at large.

Williams is a leading Lincoln scholar and author, member of the U. S. Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Commission, chair of the Rhode Island Lincoln Bicentennial Commission, founding chair of the Lincoln Forum, member and former leader in many Lincoln-related groups, and the recipient of a special Lincoln Bicentennial Order of Lincoln honor.
