03/07/08 FAMILY CIRCUS DAY at PPL, Sunday March 16 | event info

MarvinIn conjunction with Reading Across Rhode Island 2008 and the R.I. Center for the Book at Providence Public Library, the PPL Central Library is pleased to host Family Circus Day to be held Sunday, March 16, 150 Empire Street, Providence from 1:30 to 4:00 pm. The event is one of several statewide activities scheduled this year to celebrate and promote the 2008 statewide reading of Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen.

Family Circus Day is an event for everyone! It will feature circus arts workshops with Marvelous Marvin at 2:00 & 3:00 pm: learn to juggle, walk on stilts and master the rhythm sticks. Entertainer Marc Kohler will tell circus stories and offer face painting. There will be circus crafts by Hope High School’s Rise & Read Book Club and plenty of circus snacks!

Additional public free events and book discussions will be taking place over the next three months at local libraries and schools and are listed on the Reading Across Rhode Island website calendar: www.readingacrossri.org.
