Rochambeau Branch Library Presents People-nomics: Let's Talk Money! With Marcus Mitchell

Rochambeau Branch Library presents People-nomics: Let’s Talk Money with Marcus Mitchell, a free two-session program from 7:00 – 8:00 pm on Thursday, March 20 and Thursday, March 27 in the Rochambeau Branch Community Room, 708 Hope Street. The presenter, Marcus Mitchell, brings a wealth of knowledge from his experience as strategist, government relations executive and a Director of Community and Economic Development with the U.S. Senate. Marcus is president of Shere Enterprises and serves in leadership capacity with numerous boards and not-for-profit organizations.

Many Americans hear about the economy daily on TV, the radio, the Internet, financial journals, etc. But, public schools no longer put an emphasis on teaching students about the economy; how it works, how it’s controlled, the impact it has on everyday life in the U.S. (and with a global economy...around the world). Economists tend to talk in complicated jargon, with formulas and intricate theories. This two-part series is aimed at giving the general public a better understanding of basic modern economics in action around us everyday. Topics will be discussed as follows:

Thursday, March 20: How to Read People’s Minds: or Modern Economics in Practice
Thursday, March 27: Use It or Lose It!: or Ask Your Rich Uncle (Sam)

Each 45-minute session will conclude with a Q & A with the audience. For more information, e-mail dbrophy@provlib.org or call 401-455-8194.
