PPL/City of Providence Statement on Branch Buildings

Thursday, June 9, 2011

Mayor Angel Taveras and the Providence Public Library (PPL) announce a six month extension of the seven branch building leases and continued negotiations. The City and Library will strive for formal agreement by October 1.

PPL Trustees today voted to extend the City's current leases for the Library's seven branch buildings for six months following ongoing negotiations during which the Library and the City reached consensus that an extension would give all of the parties further opportunity to pursue a fair and workable conveyance arrangement.
