LOVECRAFT READATHON At Providence Public Library Saturday, August 23

"Weird” fiction writer, H.P. Lovecraft has reached cult status across the globe. On Saturday, August 23 (7 - 10 pm), we celebrate the birthday (August 20) of Providence-born Lovecraft with an interactive, multimedia reading event, hosted by the Providence Public Library (150 Empire Street, Providence) and Rhode Island Historical Society. The event features readings of some of Lovecraft’s best-loved stories as well as musical performances by local musicians, designed in the spirit of the Moby-Dick Marathon in New Bedford. The cost is $10 per person.

FIRST ANNUAL RI INDEPENDENT PUBLISHING EXPO TO BE HELD AUGUST 2 & 3 AT PROVIDENCE PUBLIC LIBRARY

The first annual Rhode Island Independent Publishing Expo (RIPExpo), a weekend-long free festival celebrating self-published comics, books and zines, will take place on Saturday August 2nd and Sunday August 3rd  from 12 to 6 PM at the Providence Public Library, 150 Empire Street, Providence.
