PPL Special Collections Receives $63,660 from National Historical Publications and Records Commission


Grant Will Support Processing and Preservation of AS220 Organizational Records

Providence Public Library (PPL) has received a $63,660 grant from the National Archives’ National Historical Publications and Records Commission (NHPRC). The grant, awarded through NHPRC’s Access to Historical Records: Archival Projects funding category, will support PPL’s effort to process and catalog AS220’s extensive organizational records, making them readily available to researchers and the public for the first time.


Call for Proposals for PPL 2018 Creative Fellowship

Providence Public Library is now accepting applications for our 2018 Creative Fellowship. The 2018 Creative Fellow will create new, original work in the field of performance (theater, dance, performance art, puppetry, etc.) related to the topic of hair, as part of the Library’s 2018 exhibition and program series, “HairBrained.”

40 Youth Receiving Paid Learning, Career Development Experience at PPL this Summer

Project offers local youth paid learning and career development experience 

Forty youth, ages 14 – 24, are currently in Week 3 of a 5-week summer (paid) employment experience at Providence Public Library (PPL).  They are participating in TEEN SQUAD: My City, My Place and receiving technology and career skill development as they work their way through four highly engaging “digital playlists.”
