Louisa May Alcott Birthday Celebration at Providence Public Library to be held November 20 will feature Alcott Impersonator & Performance
The statewide, two-month series of free programs exploring the life and work of Louisa May Alcott presented by Providence Public Library and its program partners will culminate Sunday, November 20, when there will be a Louisa May Alcott Birthday Celebration Tea at Providence Public Library, 150 Empire Street, Providence.
Sunday, November 20 - 2 - 4:00 pm -- Louisa May Alcott Birthday Celebration
Louisa’s Birthday Celebration will feature Alcott actress Marianne Donnelly, who will bring Louisa to life during a 45-minute performance entitled “Beyond Little Women: Louisa May Alcott.”
Donnelly’s performance has been enjoyed by descendants of the Alcotts, historians, Chautauquas, schools, libraries, and families at special events across the country for 20 years. This accurate, interactive, exquisitely costumed, one-woman show leaves Louisa’s fire intact! “Louisa” will welcome questions after the 45-minute show! Following the performance, attendees are welcome to enjoy a Birthday Tea with Louisa, complete with cider, scones, apple desserts, and period music by fiddler Everett Brown and members of the well-known group Barnacle.
The Louisa Birthday Celebration is generously sponsored by Amica Mutual Insurance Company.
