Providence Public Library Now Offering Public Tours
Free Historic/Architectural Tours Begin August 6
Providence Public Library will offer guided architectural tours of its historic library building beginning on Tuesday, August 6. The free tours will be held on the first and third Tuesday of each month beginning at 10:30 AM from the Library’s grand entrance at 225 Washington Street, Providence.
The Library opened its classic Venetian Renaissance building in March 1900. Now on the National Register of Historic Places, the Library is a prime example of turn-of-the-century (Gilded Age) American architecture.
According the Communications Director Tonia Mason, “By restoring the building’s original spaces and making them available for community use, the Library is honoring and renewing the spirit of our unique and historic building so it continues to inspire and uplift those seeking opportunities for lifelong learning and to gather with community.”

Group tours outside of these days/times are also possible. To schedule a special group tour, please contact Tonia Mason at 401.455.8090 or firstname.lastname@example.org. You may also access the Library’s annotated online tour at www.provlib.org (Library Tour). Online Tour
