Healthy Planet Healthy Living: Searching for New Drugs in the Sea
Sunday, December 5, 2010
2:00 PM-3:00 PM
This series features free Sunday afternoon lectures by local scientists, researchers, and educators who will discuss how caring for the world around us and caring for ourselves goes hand-in-hand.
There are many reasons for protecting the health of the marine environment around the world, but one that is seldom considered is the vast potential it holds for finding cures and treatments for many human diseases. URI biomedical researcher Dave Rowley will share insights into the tiny marine creatures that he believes may lead to a healthier human population on Earth.
