As a public service, Providence Public Library invites Rhode Island non-profit organizations to post their programs/events of statewide interest on our Calendar of Events. Although we attempt to ensure authenticity and accuracy of content, we recommend that you contact the organization posting this event for verification.
Communities for People, a local child welfare and family service agency is hosting RI’s first ever awareness event for children and families interested in, or involved with RI’s child welfare and foster care system. The day is designed as a festival, complete with family friendly activities, to foster awareness and show appreciation to the many foster children and foster parents in RI.
There will be bouncy houses, a free raffle, face-painting, balloon animals, games, and live music all afternoon provided by RI's cover band, Transmission. Over 100 foster families have been invited to the event. Mayor Tavaras and Congress Langevin will be providing opening remarks for the Awareness Day.
