Inspired by the true story of the first Native American graduate of Harvard University, Caleb’s Crossing is a fascinating historical novel exploring friendship, oppression, and spiritual attitudes of faith. The vividly detailed journey of Caleb Cheeshahteaumuck describes the lives of Native Americans and colonists in seventeenth century Martha’s Vineyard and Boston, including references to people and events in Rhode Island.
