Monday March 12 -- Artist Presentation of traditional Korean method of papermaking called Joomchi with Jiyoung Chung.

Jiyoung Chung is a painter, mixed media artist and freelance writer who shows her works nationally and internationally. She has developed an innovative method for utilizing a traditional Korean method of papermaking called Joomchi into contemporary art form.

Jiyoung (B.F.A., Painting from RISD, and M.F.A., Print/Media from Cranbrook Academy of Art) has had numerous solo shows (25 times) in Korea, China, Finland, Canada, U.S.A, Australia, France and U.K. In 2010, she curated an International Korean/American Joomchi show that was shown at the 2010 European Patchwork Meeting, Alsace, France. This show eventually toured to Korea (2010, 2011) and scheduled to show in USA (2012). She also authored a How-to-Do book titled “Joomchi & Beyond.” Her work is in the permanent collections of Museum of Art & Design, NY.
