“To Majors John Gorman and Samuel Bangs –
You are hereby appointed as requested to inspect a Parcell of Mens Shoes now laying in the State Store and such as in your opinion are well made with good Leather, stout of fit for soldiers you are to pass, the other you will condemn-”
