Help us celebrate PPL's 140th Anniversary!

As we open again on Sundays (1-5 PM) we will mark the Library's decades of service with an open house and activities for all ages, including a Library tour of our historic original building and viewing of our Walk Through the Decades Exhibit (3rd Floor). We'll have additional family programs and, of course, cake!

Take in a Sneak Preview of our Fall Exhibit Stages of Freedom

While you're here, get a sneak preview of a new fall exhibit: Stages of Freedom, which will explore the contributions Black artists have made to the performing arts, specifically on stage and screen, in Rhode Island. This project is part of the Pell Humanities Initiative in Rhode Island to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the National Endowment for the Humanities.

2:00 pm -- Drumming with Sidy Maija (Auditorium, 3rd floor) -- Join Sidy Maiga, master percussionist from Bamako, Mali, West Africa

             -- Check in with Digital Producer on our newly launced ProvLibDigital (3rd floor)

2:30 pm -- Historic Building & Collections Tour & 140 Years of Service Exhibition (Meet in Grand Hall, 1st floor)

3:30 pm -- 140th Birthday Cake (Meeting Room, 3rd floor)
