Episcopal - St. John's - 1936 - plaque in memory  of
Gabriel Bernon in basement of Cathedral of St. John.
Before remodeling the church it was necessary to find a man who had
been dead 220 years.  Gabriel Bernon, merchant, colonizer, and
churchman, was buried  beneath the church he founded in 1722.  - Providence
