Tool used: point; most pricks are round, some are triangular, suggesting either a sail needle or a knife blade tip. There is no evidence of undercutting by a knife blade

Design description: - Face whaling scene, ship in distance at right shown from starboard side; in distance left, whale with boat on back. Foreground, whaleboat approaching a blowing whale (mouth of bowhead, body of sperm!)
Verso:
Condition: dirty; cracks extending up from base on face 2" and 1/2", on Verso: 2 1/2" and 3/4"; other cracks on surface and on tip.

Other notes: sawed off at base to permit standing Design outlines are all pin-pricked; filling is made with lines
