Roger Williams Spring
City of Providence founded on this site in 1636.
In 1931 this plot of ground was given to the City of Providence.
J.Jerome Han gave the plot in memory of his father Isaac Han.
Isaac Han was the first citizen of Jewish faith to be elected
to office by voters of Providence.
The spring at this site was the original water supply around which
Roger Williams gathered the first settlers.
In 1731 by reservation in the deed from the proprietors of
Providence this spring was made accessible to the Townspeople
forever.
