A Manuscript Created for Henri IV, King of France

In 1598 a man named Dominicus Musè wrote a letter to Henri IV, King of France. The letter was lavishly produced: gold ink was used for the text, and the letter includes a painted portrait of Henri. The book was bound in a richly-tooled decorative binding.

We've made the volume available online in its entirety. If you'd like to learn more about it, you can read about it in volume 4, issue 3 of our Occasional Nuggets publication.
