Built in 1761, used as a Court and State House until 1900. 
Appropriately called the Independence Hall of Providence. 
Act passed May 4th, 1776, constituting R.I. the first free
and independent Republic in America and asserting her
absolute independence of England, two months before the
Declaration of Independence in Philadelphia.
