Family History Workshop Series

Is it too early to start planning for 2014?

The Rhode Island Collection is excited to be hosting a 2014 workshop series on genealogy.   You can sign up for all of the workshops or just one or two.   If you've never researched your family history, start with our Genealogy 101 in January and we'll get you started with the basics.   If you've been working on it for years, get a refresher with Genealogy Databases to learn some new tips and tricks to maximize your search results.

Share some family stories with a child in your life in our summer Family History workshops and get them excited about learning more!  Take our Oral History workshop and become a volunteer historian on behalf of the Rhode Island Collection!

Getting to know your ancestors can be a fun and rewarding experience.  As you get to learn about your own past, you'll get insight into the broad sweep of history.  You'll get to connect to other family and community members as you gather their stories.   You'll be challenged with puzzles and dead ends and get to experience the excitement of uncovering clues to solve mysteries.

We're excited and hope you'll join us for one or more of these events.  You can register online easily and if you have any questions, feel free to contact me at kwells@provlib.org.
