Build a car with duct tape, Popsicle sticks, and paperclips!

February 24, 2016

On Sunday we held the final of our three part series, “junk drawer robotics”. Participants built cars using ordinary household items like craft sticks, duct tape, paper clips, and a small hobby motor powered with a AA battery. They were free to design it themselves and then race it around the room and even down the hall! James McHenry and Ryan Vallier from the Cranston HS West Robotics Club were our facilitators and guided the participants through the process. Ages ranged from 6 to 15 with the parents getting in on the act as well.

Beginning March 20th for ages 10 and up we have a three part Lego Mindstorm robotics series. Registration is required and the group is limited to 10 participants. James and Ryan will again be working with us as teams of two design and build programmable robots using the Lego Mindstorm kits. These sessions meet March 20, April 10 and April 17 at 2PM.
