I come to PPL for a few reasons. The main reason right now is because it’s a place I can take my one year old son, where we can read books and play for hours in a safe place. We’ve made so many friends through the Library, and it has truly given us a community. Before I had my son, I worked as a library aide and bookseller and loved going to the Library just to be in a quiet space surrounded by books. I’m a voracious reader, so I truly value having books accessible to me so I can read more of them.

I’ve read quite a few books this year thanks to the Library and have been able to read more diversely. I tend to gravitate towards more niche books, so I like that PPL, in particular, has such a big collection, especially in the arts. The children’s collection is also phenomenal, not to mention the fact that I’ve been able to bond more with my son over some childhood favorites.

I love coming to the Library…it’s always an adventure. I believe that anyone who wants to read should be allowed to read, regardless of who they are or what barriers are in their way. Everyone deserves the right to read whatever they want. I have supported the Library since I was a kid and I will continue to for the rest of my life.
