I first came to PPL for a teen coding class (Rhode Coders 2.0). That class led to many opportunities for me at the Library. I have become proficient in coding languages such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript. I then demoed the Library’s My City, My Place program, which helped me improve my public speaking.

Through these experiences, I also have been featured on the Library’s website in pictures, in their annual report, and I participated in focus groups.  I am currently involved in a teen-oriented marketing video that PPL is creating. Now, I am back in Rhode Coders 2.0, but this time as a teaching assistant!

One of the best places I love to go is the Library. It is a place where you can be yourself and take fun classes and not have your creativity tamed like it is in school. Through the classes I’ve taken, I have realized what I want to do with my life, especially with the Rhode Coders 2.0 class, since I want to pursue computer science.
