PROVIDENCE, RI — Providence Public Library (PPL) held its Annual Meeting on May 19 2021, announcing and installing a new slate of officers and incoming trustees. In formal proceedings, the Library announced its 2021 officers of the Board as: Elizabeth A. Debs (Providence), Chair; Micah E. Salkind (Providence), Vice Chair; Juan Wilson (Providence), Secretary; and Christopher Stevens (of Easton, Mass.), Treasurer.
In addition, the Library announced two new members of the PPL Board of Trustees:
Sharon Lloyd Clark, of Providence
Sharon is a career educator, accomplished in a number of diverse arenas in leadership, partnerships and fundraising. At Brown University, she served as Associate Director of the M.A.T. program and Director of the Institute for Secondary and Middle School Education. In 2014, she returned to Brown University as Regional Advancement Director as a key figure in the Brown “Campaign for Academic Enrichment.” Sharon Is a proud graduate of the Bronx High School Science in New York City has a B.A. in Medieval History and Classical Languages from Muskingum College in New Concord, Ohio, and an M.A, from Cornell University in History. Sharon is on PPL’s Development/Planned Giving Committee.
Adriana Dawson, of Pawtucket
Adriana Dawson is a nationally recognized bilingual/bicultural leader with 25+ years of demonstrated impact at the intersection of community and business development. Ms. Dawson is the Director of Community Engagement for Verizon and oversees the Verizon Foundation and Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives in Rhode Island and areas of Massachusetts. Adriana is a first generation Colombian American and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from Northeastern University. She holds a Master of Arts in Management Communication from Emerson College. Adriana is on PPL’s DEI Taskforce Committee.
